A cleaner and safer Forklift Truck Fleet

Based in Greencroft, County Durham, Corespec Ltd has been operating at the same site since its inception in 1998.

The directors & management team alone has over 75 years of experience in core manufacturing and the company has a strong belief in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and support services.

As an Environmentally and Ethically aware business they only purchase raw materials from strictly approved suppliers within the U.K, not only ensuring that all employment, environmental and trading laws are adhered to, but it also gives them full visibility of their supply chain.

SOLUTION

After speaking with the Corespec management team, the decision was to swap out the gas-powered forklift trucks and replace them with electric trucks.

This was part of the company’s efforts to reduce their carbon footprint as well as taking out the requirement for operators to handle gas bottles and eradicating the need to store gas on site with its associated risks.

A discussion also took place regarding employee safety whilst working on site around MHE equipment.

Alcor Handling recommended a new Fleet of Mitsubishi EDIA electric powered forklifts fitted with a Pedestrian detection warning system.

This recommendation would enhance both the environmental impact and employee safety.

Stuart Dawson, Managing Director at Alcor Handling Solutions commented.

“We have been a supplier to Corespec for over 30 years, our business relationship is built on trust and understanding, working together on this project saw a fantastic collaboration of two businesses working together to achieve a solution that benefited both organisations”.

RESULT
The new trucks have been received well by the operators, having driven IC engine products for over 3 decades, the change to electric powered forklifts has been seamless and this is testimony to the Corespec staff.

The pedestrian detection warning system, which gives a loud audible alert when the FLT becomes to close to a pedestrian has boosted confidence in the workplace.

Gareth Ackroyd: Corespec Limited – Operations Director commented

“We have a long-standing relationship with Alcor which continues to go from strength to strength. The relationship managers are very knowledgeable and very supportive in what you want to achieve.

The level of customer service is also excellent whether it be the accounts, sales or maintenance departments.

The maintenance department can always be relied on to visit our premises quickly in the event of a problem and we are kept fully informed of any potential repairs as well as being kept fully updated with the servicing schedules on each Forklift Truck.

These trucks are essential in the running of our business, so it allows peace of mind to know that we have the support we need on an on-going basis.

The new trucks have been excellent for us. They tick every box that we wanted in terms of safety, reliability, cost, ease of charging and reducing our carbon footprint.

We would highly recommend both switching to electric trucks and partnering with Alcor Handling Solutions”.
