A cleaner and safer Forklift Truck Fleet

Based in Greencroft, County Durham, Corespec Ltd has been operating at the same site since its inception in 1998.

The directors & management team alone has over 75 years of experience in core manufacturing and the company has a strong belief in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and support services.

SOLUTION

After consulting with the company’s operations management team to get a full understanding of their needs, the driving factor was to maximise the storage space at its new warehouse facility.

Alcor Handling Solutions recommended a turnkey solution which included the design and delivery of a new (VNA) very narrow aisle racking system which achieved a staggering 2800 pallets of storage space by simply narrowing the facility’s aisle widths.

And by installing a mezzanine floor, this cut out dead space which was utilised for storing other stock, and creating a working area to assemble the products, this recommendation was clearly the best option for Trendsetting Awards operations management team.

In addition, Alcor Handling Solutions has supplied the fleet of warehouse equipment that operates within the new warehouse and will provide ongoing truck service and maintenance support to ensure that the machines always deliver optimum performance.

Following a competitive tender process, Alcor Handling Solutions was awarded the contract to oversee the design and build of the new warehouse racking and storage system from start to finish.

RESULT

The new trucks have been received well by the operators, having driven IC engine products for over 3 decades, the change to electric powered forklifts has been seamless and this is testimony to the Corespec staff.

The pedestrian detection warning system, which gives a loud audible alert when the FLT becomes to close to a pedestrian has boosted confidence in the workplace.
